Jean Preston is a versatile fine artist with experience in many media. Jean lives with her husband and family in Fresno, California, and works at her studios in Fresno and Cambria on the central California coast.
The artist states; " Sculpture was a new adventure for me when I arrived in California, and from the first moment that I delved into the clay I knew that this was going to be a big part of my new life. There is something so very special about creating with clay – it is part of the earth, and yet the creative process itself transcends the everyday life and touches the soul.
My very early work was all about Africa where I grew up. All of my sculptures were of the beautiful African people that were so much a part of my life. My sculpture now is of a variety of images, but African art is still my first love.
I feel that this work is a God given thing, and I hope that it will touch the lives of the people who view it."
